The Role:

  • Drive category growth and profitability & manage vendor relationships 
  • Develop category strategies focusing on core segments ensuring key insights are identified and utilised
  • Forecast stock and delivery cycles to maximize sales targets
  • Manage promotional activity/calendar and develop strategies to drive profitable growth
  • Working collaboratively with other key internal stakeholders including VM, retail, marketing, finance and supply chain
  • Source new products / innovation and manage their implementation into the network
  • Review Supplier responsibilities and commitments to community and sustainability
  • Negotiate with suppliers to maximize category profitability
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have the following attributes:
  • 7+ years experience as a Category Manager ideally in a FMCG retail environment
  • Energetic and open-minded
  • Managing multiple stakeholders and developing positive relationships
  • Proven ability in setting and achieving results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven negotiation skills, sales management, and problem solving skills
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Ability to think commercially to identify and deliver on growth opportunities
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills
