As a shopper, Black Friday sounds amazing! As a retailer, it means lower profit margins, but more sales. So what’s Cyber Monday all about?
Cyber Monday was set up to continue the buying rush that happens in the US on Black Friday. Held after Thanksgiving it’s basically the start of a major shopping frenzy where retailers offer huge discounts to kick start holiday spending!
Over the past couple of years, there have been some incidents arising from the manic shoppers hunting for a bargain. Last year a staff member was trampled, and this year a customer sprayed her ‘opponents’ with pepper spray! Anything for a good deal!
Last year’s sales topped on Cyber Monday topped $1 billion, so it will be interesting to see how things go this year! It’s the perfect option for those who don’t want to risk injury competing with the masses in store over the 4 day bargain weekend. Especially if you’re looking to buy goods you don’t have to try on.
With the build up and the hype on social media and daily deal sites, one only hopes that the sites are able to cope with the huge influx of people!
Let us know if you’re planning on taking advantage of the overseas sales. We’d love to know where you’re going to get the best deals!
